This blog is my tool for working out the cobwebs after my mental break three and a half years ago. Many things happened to me leading up to my break and I want to keep a documentation of things that happened in an effort to remember and keep record of what I experienced. I write a lot about bipolar disorder and mental illness in general, but I am also treating this as my online journal. I have secret aspirations of being a professional writer, as I tend to work better alone, and I am hoping this platform gives me the confidence to go after my dream.
I try to be funny and lighthearted about topics, but sometimes things just aren’t funny. After three plus years, I am able to joke about what happened to me and my diagnosis, but I still struggle at times with the day-to-day emotions. That is the general theme of this blog – MY human condition.
Not every story will knock it out of the park, but I hope my writing is entertaining and insightful. I want my journey to help someone who is struggling with a similar diagnosis to know that they are not alone – someone has been there before and can provide insight into what it means to lose your mind and fight to regain your sanity.
The fight has not been easy, but it has been educational. Whether you suffer, know someone who suffers, or are just curious about someone with a mental disorder, let this be your place to sit down, grab a cup of coffee and learn a little more about my experiences and take on life.
I am not a scientific journal. I do not have a PhD in psychology. But, I have an education and experiences under my belt to make this worth your while.
